AirTrack integrates with multiple data sources in order to report flight and navigation data wirelessly and in real time. Designed to be used with a Flight Simulator, with the aid of a plugin this application allows you to track your virtual flights in real-time in the palm of your hand, as well as to remotely control your simulated flights.
You no longer need to stay glued to the computer in order to know if youre still flying at 39,000 feet, if youre still heading to the right waypoint, how long youve got left or what the weather is going to be like at your destination airport; you can now relax and do it in the garden or anywhere within WiFi reach really and control your flight with your thumb.
But if this isnt enough, AirTrack can also use your devices built-in GPS, Accelerometer and Gyro to determine your current movements and attitude and the Internet to download real weather to simulate an aircrafts sensors.
Turn your car trip into a flight experience by getting information about your instant position, heading and surrounding waypoints. See yourself in an EFIS style navigation display / primary flight display or plan your multi-leg trip with the built in route planner FMC which gives you real-time information about your waypoints, how far they are and how long it will take you to reach them.
With its built-in database of FIX, VOR, NDB and Airports, AirTrack can also be used as a flight simulator companion allowing you to plan and monitor your trip, target a VOR or even perform a full IFR approach without ever needing to look at the screen.
The AirTrack features include:

- Also in the PFD, compass, AI with roll/pitch, auto-pilot status and settings.

Pros and cons of AirTrack Classic app for iPhone and iPad
AirTrack Classic app good for
Congratulations, it is very usefull. I am a airliner professional pilot and It is only missing the Engine Parameters. In any aicraft, it is necessary at least three monitors, they are PFD, ND and Engine Parameters. I hope in a new version it be included or in a new app.
perfect tool for everyone who runs X-Plane.
Support was super fast to help with bugfix.
Works now also with Macs with PowerPC.
Installation is easy and app shows every flight parameter via WiFi.
So Simulator runs in autopilot and I can check everything
while being with my family ;-)
Good work! Amazing app loaded with all the information you want about your flight!
The app is a great help for my x plane experience. Planning the routes is just amazing, cause you can type the fix, vor ect much more faster into your nav. Besides that you can safe the routes for the future AND it really works very smooth. The latency is extrem low so you really see whats happening in real time.
The app is all i wanted - if you are a x plane pilot its an must have! Im using x plane 9 on my imac.
I use Airtrack together with X-Plane and it is a great improvement.
Only the autopilot input controls are a little dogy and could use some improvement.
Apart from that, its a fast, responsive piece of software.
That is one of the best Apps ever. I am using it with X-Plane 10 and it is just amazing and works perfect (EFIS, FMC etc.)! There are just two little things that are stopping me from giving 5/5.
1.) Please add the weather-radar overlay as it is in X-Plane
2.) Please add the TCA (not just VATSIM, ans IVAO) as it is in X-Plane
Some bad moments
It does not import the waypoints correctly from the fmc of the plane (a320 by jardesign) and does not import any waypoint of the plane fmc with the 777 worldliner with x plane.
Asking for help to the support email of the app, I received no answer... Even trying several times.
This app is not currently working with X-Plane. It used to work great but no longer syncs with x-plane, and the companys website is down.
I dont know how I could fly my x-plane sim without it. Also very useful when traveling in my truck. Its surprising to see all the airports in the area that I travel through. I constantly use this app for various other reasons. Wind direction, altitude,etc.-too many to mention. One of the most used apps on my iPhone. Worth every penny. I really appreciate all the updates. Im surpised more people dont rate this app. Whether you like it or not, I as a regular user would love to see some comments. Maybe someone has some ideas on how to make this app even better? Seems to me like it gets better with every update.
Since the recent update some ICAO codes aint showing up and on the FMC that shows you the heading of your waypoint freezes up(using iPod touch 4g)...please fix asap this app is a 5 star
Best app for x-plane ever! I can not imagine myself flying without it!
Some suggestions:
1. make it so when your on VATSIM, you can hear the airtraffic controllers voice and can read the text!
I was uncertain if I should give 4 or 5 stars, but I definitely think this app is but one more dagger in the heart of the Jeppesen/Garmin hegemony ... and thats probably reason enough to give 5 stars, but Ill stick with 4 for starters. New technologies *should* drive costs down as it drives capabilities up, and this app proves that.
I was particularly pleased when my Bad-Elf GPS did its thing, even with my wi-fi only iPad. Im almost tempted to buy a 3G model just for the opportunity to experiment with its real-time weather access.
One area I would improve is that of scalability and readability with somewhat larger font sizes, and include the ability to zoom the range rings down to 1, 5, and 10 N.M. And incorporate the U.S. 56-day database cycle into the app, and youve got 5 stars.
